    No, but since the hard drive is outside of the console that isn’t a problem.

    No, but if your concern is that you might lose the data when you send it in to Microsoft, you can try fixing it yourself instead. There are a number of sites that have videos to show you how to repair the three red lights on your own, which would let you get back into your Xbox360 to get the information off the hard drive. I’ve included a site that lists the repair sites below:
