I turned my xbox 360 on via controllor and red lights came up but it was a complete circle of red. I unplugged, plugged back in and it’s ok for now. Is this gonna start happening all the time now?

if they blink it means u must of hit the plug or something but if it was just red then there might be a problem but if u just restarted it and it worked then it should be fine

this happened to me but mine works perfectly fine now.
i think it was because my power box thing wasnt fully connected to the cord.

No necessarily, could have been a temporary glitch. It could at a time turn into the “red ring of death” which has been a common complaint amongst 360 owners. Do NOT think this means that your 360 is useless and sell it, instead send your serial information and xbox to microsoft, who will then replace it with a new one.

Microsoft should have resolved this problem long ago, and usually deals with overheating, who knows when it will happen again.

if it is fine now it is just b/c ur plug wasnt in rite but if it does not work after replugging it it is the red lights of death call microsoft and they’ll send u a box to ship it in

it doesn’t mean it’s failed for sure, but the red light is called the RROD (red ring of death) so if it starts happening more often ur xbox will eventually fail…get a ps3 or a new 360 if u have warranty. the new ones don’t seem to suffer from the RROD as often as the old models

Mine did the same for a couple of times, then would give me the Red Ring of Death every time. I went to xbox.com and the support and they have an easy form to register your xbox, fill out a support request, and if it is still within the warranty (the 3 year extendy warranty Microsoft gave to everyone should still be valid), it’ll be free of charge.. Otherwise, it’s like 100 bucks.

No, if it was a full ring, all 4 lights, then you’re fine. That just means that either there isn’t enough power to the system or it’s not connected to a TV. You’ll be fine. If it was just 3 red lights on the other hand, then it’s toast

if its three rings then its RING OF DEATH D:
if its four then it died :O!
if its two then it means its overheated
i forgot what one ring ment

well your xbox is broken and you should send it to the company that makes them and theyll send you new 1 later but first call them and they will send you a box so you can put the xbox in but keep your hard drive

Not necessarily. Try getting the power supply (the big box in the back) out in the open as much as possible. The reason is that sometimes the power supply gets too hot and the fans inside can’t keep it cool and this will cause the red ring of death as well. If you move the power supply and the problem continues then contact Microsoft for the coffin to ship it back in for repairs.

This is how it is… 1 flashing light is an sign of over heating. Two & Three are internal hardware failures. $ just means the power is in but the video plug is out! its not broken!
