You cant actually fix it without any of those but if you open your window and get a breeze going through the window sometimes it will help cool it down and it will work for a while longer.

Thats simple, go grab a sledgehammer. Then you beat the living hell out of it. Problem Solved.

They sell books on ebay that show you how to fix it. You should really call 1-800-4MYXBOX, you can get it repaired for free and you don’t need a receipt.(they extended the warranty for 3 years on the ring-of death) They pay for everything and even send you the box with the shipping label in it. The only thing you have to do is drop it off at a UPS store.

So you want to fix somthing broken without doing anything?

It won’t work. The problem you encouter is the following:
The old Xbox models have a too weak heatsink for the GPU built in.
The GPU overheats and warps the board underneath, causing the GPU to lose contact with the mainboard.

The only way to get this resolved is by getting it repaired for free by Microsoft support.

The towel trick will do nothing, and you can’t do anything yourself. Even the X-Clamp fix won’t do it for long.

So just call the toll free Microsoft hotline, and get your console repaired for free.

Get a PS3, that’ll fix it! lol…but seriously, the Xbox 360 isn’t really worth all the trouble that it comes with, and as far as fixing it, many people are still having to send them back over and over before they get one that actually works. IMHO, you should just get rid of it and find something else…maybe a PS3…best $400 I ever spent!

You will have to either send it back to Microsoft be fixed, give it to another repair place to fix it, or fix it yourself.

Do not try the towel trick as this can cause more damage. (It “works” by overheating the console)

Take a look at this article for more info.

The towels solution is extremely risky. The point of the towels is to reheat the connectors inside the box and hopefully they will reconnect correctly…however you risk them reconnecting even worst…the best thing to do is to send it back to the company…they will do it for free and you get a free 1 month subscription to box live.

If you do not want to send it in, take it apart or pay to have it fixed then there is no way that you can fix it.

The fix is easy all you need to know how to do is stop the build up of heat on the GPU and the CPU and you will have a working Xbox again!

    Hope this helps you!

Hey. man your 360 has a red ring? Its REALLY hard to fix I got it. But I didn’t want to buy a new one so I got one for free from this website.
All you have to do is sign up. Do an offer any offer like Gamefly, Blockbuster, w/e. The offer I did was Book of the Month because it instantly gives me credit for doing the offer. After like 1 day I sent them an email saying. CANCEL it. Then I checked my debit card balance and I wasn’t charged. And if you don’t want to use a Credit Card you can use a Visa Debit Card like me. I bought it from walmart. :D
