More than likely, yes. I’ve heard the 3 red lights(3rl) of death is common, but seldomly do i hear about a full red circle. sorry bro, you just joined the millions of unhappy gamers.

Yes, your Xbox is broken. Luckily for you, Microsoft has a three year warranty on the “red ring of death” issue. Call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX, they will take care of you and let you know how to get your Xbox fixed.

yup its broken. Go to and they’ll send you a box to send it back and it will probably take 6 weeks to get it back. Good luck man.

A full red circle means that you have a video/audio plug problem. The video/audio plug may need to be replaced or it could be a problem within you Xbox 360.

If it is a full ring it is a problem with your audio and video cables not in all the way or just broken. If it is 3 parts glowing you have the “Red Rings of Death”. I had the same problem and Microsoft was more than happy to help me out. It took a week and a half to get my Xbox 360 back and I haven’t had a problem since. Just phone 1-800-4MYXBOX and follow the directions Max will give you regarding your problem. You do not need to send in any of the accessories with your Xbox 360 except for the console alone. I would recommend taking off any face plates and skin mods you may have on. You get to keep your hard drive so all your game data will be saved. Any arcade games you have you might have problems with, Microsoft should be able to help you with that too.
