After selecting shutting down the console on my Xbox 360, when i went to turn it back on, the power button was repeatedly blinking red. The circle was full or had 4 red lights, so i tried to clean and replug all the cords, but it still hasnt worked. Any ideas???

wow, i had the same thing happen to me. i had my console for a whole of 20 minutes when it happend. then after a while mine didn’t even turn on, and i had a game in it! the only thing i can tell you is to get a new one. they cant fix them. the only way you could possibly fix it is to send it to microsoft if your warrenty is up, that’ll cost you AT LEAST 100-150. call em up and see what they say

very common problem with the 360s.. contact microsoft.. takes about 4 weeks but they will fix/send you a new one.. if you are still under warranty (which they extended just for this problem)

    Good luck!!!

That’s the red light of doom. That means your Xbox is dead, pretty much. You can take it to a service dealer, and unless it is under warranty will cost you an arm and a leg to get it fixed.

The xbox360 has the highest mortality rate of ANY console system ever produced. Just search on the web for xbox360 related articles, and I’m sure you’ll find a ton of doomed xbox testimonials and news clippings.

thats the “ring of death” it means your 360 is broken. send it in and they will give you another one for free. but you will lose all of your progress in your games

turn it off and contact Microsoft they extended the warranty on them and they send you a coffin for your xbox and you mail it to them and they repair it or replace it. The only downfall is you’re with out your xbox for 4-6 weeks. :( ouch

Ignore these people! That is NOT THE RING OF DEATH. That would be THREE RED LIGHTS. You have either switched HD settings or you have your component cables connected wrong.

Check the switch on the component cables (where in plugs into the Xbox) and make sure it is set correctly to TV or HDTV depending on your set-up.

Foolish people! 4 red lights is NOT the red ring of death. It means your AV cable cannot be detected. Make sure the cable connections are all solid and it should work just fine. Man…I don’t understand why people answer if they have no clue.
