Sounds like you have the dreaded red ring of death. As far as I know the only thing to do is ship it back to the manufacturer and have them repair it. Then you get to wait 6 to 8 weeks (or longer) for them to send it back to you.

The Red Rings of Death are a huge issue for the 360. If you are still under Microsoft’s extended warranty, then send it in to be replaced. If not than you can have it fixed. Some people make their entire living repairing 360’s for $30-$50 each. If you wanted to you could even fix it yourself. Look on youtube, theres some good videos on fixing xbox 360s, and it only requires some washers from Radio Shack. 90% cannot be fixed, but most can.

when did you buy it?
if you have a newer model it should work fine in a different power outlet (it needs more power)
happened to me 5 or 6 times now and my 360 runs fine
