Unplug the giant brick for around ten minutes and try it again. If it doesn’t work, you could try the towel trick(google), or just send it in.

either turn it off and back on or wrap the 360 in a thick towel turn it on for one hour and turn it off and let it rest it should work again

If you bought it less than a year ago, you still have the warranty. If not you can check this out…
You can check you local craigslist for people who will do this if you’re not comfortable doing it…

Microsoft gave a warranty to all Xbox 360 owners I believe for a year, if you get the RROD you are entitled to call in and get a free one from the company, they’ll ask for your address I bet and they’ll send you a package that holds instructions how to properly pack your xbox into the box to send to Microsoft which takes about 2 weeks to arrive I think, then in about 3-5 weeks you’ll have your new xbox 360 and a gift they give for your troubles like free xbox live.
BUT if you didn’t have a memory card I’m sorry to tell you you’ll be starting over on ALL of your games…

do not use the towel trick as others have suggested that will work short term if at all.
i had the same problem there is an easy way to fix it yourself so you dont have to send it in to microsoft
