Xbox Red lights; Overheating?

My xbox will turn on, and stay on for a maximum of one minute then it gets really loud and then shuts off, and 2 red lights go on.
I called xbox, and they said it would cost $99 to fix, because the 1st year of the warranty is over, and only in the 1st year do they cover a problem like this apparently.
How am I able overheat it in order to get 3 or 4 red lights so that it will be free to be repaired, seeing how it is still in the 3 year warranty.
I already tried putting it in blankets, and using a blow dryer. Any other techniques?

I would just keep playing it until it red ringed.. try nothing to drastic cause if it is too noticable xbox will not replace it. I have the open tray error, but I can tap the x360 lightly and get it to pick up the disc. so now the plan is to run til the red ring and then wah lah free shipping.. they wanted to also charge to send it off.. I was like fuck that.

I would be careful if I were you. Since you have contacted Microsoft they are aware that your 360 has an issue already. I’m not an Xbox tech, but it’s possible that it’s impossible to go from two red rings to the RROD. Hence if you suddenly had the RROD after just contacting them a while ago about two red rings it might raise red flags with them.
I understand you want to get it fixed for free, but what might end up happening instead is you go from having to pay $99 to get your 360 repaired to having to pay $199 to $299 to get a whole new 360. :-/

Dear God man, you are determined to kill it aren’t you?
Well I bought a Niko (sp?) cooling fan, (to counteract the RROD) but I had a power surge and that fan actually burned the power port of my 360…I sent it in for the RROD and even though I found out later that if that fan was used, it voided warranty, they still fixed it for free so I got lucky. Anyway, good luck with trying to kill your 360…If all else fails just light it on fire, blame the system and sue microsoft for thousands of dollars for trauma.
